How we work
Define the railway
Alignment, materials, host-railway requirements and the operating window.
Build
Ties, rail, surfacing, welding and industrial connections as specified.
Hand back
Inspection and return to service.
Qualifications
- CROR
Host railways expect CROR-qualified people for flagging, protection and work in the operating environment.
- eRailSafe
Without a current eRailSafe credential, crews cannot access many CN and other host-railway sites.
- ISN
Procurement teams use ISNetworld scores to decide who is allowed on site.
- A-Z licensed operators
Material moves and boom/float work on public roads require licensed operators, not just people who can run a machine on track.
Equipment used
Lift and place rail, ties, materials and components on the job.
Move machines and heavy railway materials between yards and job sites.
Carry rail, ties, ballast products and site materials to and from the work.
Surface and line track to geometry. CUNA provides Mark IV operators and trainers; fleet ownership is not confirmed.
Produce in-track thermite welds for rail replacement and construction.
Put a crew and tools on the rail for inspection, maintenance and emergency work.
